Which OpenAI API features are supported?

Model APIs are OpenAI-compatible: point your existing OpenAI SDK at https://inference.baseten.co/v1 with a Baseten API key and your code runs unchanged.

Supported across the surface (with per-model variation):

• Chat completions with streaming

• Function calling / tool use — docs

• Structured outputs and JSON mode — docs

• Reasoning — enabled by default on some models, opt-in on others; per-model behavior is on the supported models list

If a specific parameter behaves differently than you expect, tell us the model, the parameter, and what you saw — per-model gaps are exactly the feedback we route to engineering.
